"Nothing makes a person more human than a love for animals." – Henry Fielding.
"Every year, Sloboda zvierat rescues more than 2,500 animals."
Despite this, while 2,000 of them ultimately find a home again, most animals spend several weeks or months in the shelter.
How does a shelter actually work? What do animals receive there, and how can you help? What should you do if you want to adopt a pet?
Take some time to think about adopting a pet. Make sure you can provide enough care for them for several years to come. Cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs are also looking for new homes...
The best way to get to know a dog better is through walking. This way, you can find out what their personality is like and whether you're a good match.
Talk to the shelter staff about the dog's personality, the veterinarian about its health, and the dispatcher about measures to prevent the pet from getting lost. If you’re still unsure, you can arrange to take the dog home on a trial basis for a "long walk," which lasts for 14 days.
If you decide to adopt, bring your own collar, leash, or carrier. After filling out the forms and paying the fees, the dog can go home with you.
Please keep in mind that only individuals over 18 with a valid ID can adopt a pet. Animals leaving for their new homes are treated, vaccinated, and microchipped.. Animals leaving for their new homes are treated, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Walking
Dogs are grateful for every walk and petting. Leashes are available. Please come dressed comfortably, preferably in sportswear, and in clothes that can handle a bit of dirt, as the dogs may be muddy from the runs or walks in the woods.”
