Living in a space of 20.5 m\u00b2 is incredible, yet it even has a balcony just a stone's throw from the center of Bratislava, along with a small cellar as a big bonus. Plenty of light, a flood of western sunshine, and a distant view \u2013 trees, a chimney, a parking lot... the life of the street right outside the window. This space, smaller than an apartment yet larger than a big wardrobe, is called the CABINET. In English, it's \u201cThe Cabinet,\u201d in French, \u201cLe Cabinet.\u201d In every language, it sounds equally impressive, sensual, and mysterious. And that\u2019s exactly how the entire apartment feels. It\u2019s the \u201cSmart for Two\u201d among apartments... it has everything essential, right at your fingertips. KABINET is the essence of living.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fully renovated and furnished apartment is designed as an Open Plan layout. It consists of an 18.5 m\u00b2 connected space for the hallway, living area, and kitchen, plus a 2 m\u00b2 enclosed bathroom with a toilet and shower. The high-standard security entrance door matches the triple-glazed windows. The core of the new living space is enhanced with imported refurbished wooden parquet flooring and a classic cast-iron radiator. A rare feature is the terrazzo window sill, designed to last forever. To create a charm of the old and new, the ceiling above the parquet has been preserved in its original wavy state and has only been freshly painted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The apartment features distinct living zones that connect seamlessly, crafted from repeating elements of the kitchen program into one harmonious whole. All furnishings and equipment, including coffee, are from IKEA. There is an abundance of storage space, including a 2-meter wardrobe for hanging clothes, a dining table for four, and a convertible sofa that also serves as a bed for two. A wall-mounted TV completes the setup. The impressive view from anywhere in the space showcases a painting of winter waves, measuring a modest 1\u00d71.40 m. Even two oversized hanging lamps have found their place without sacrificing space or functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The entire apartment is styled in shades of gray and white, accented with green-olive \"masculine\" tones and dark beige \"feminine\" touches. The partition behind the kitchen counter not only separates the kitchen from the living area but also protects the privacy of the living zone from the curious gazes of passing neighbors when the front door is open. Additionally, it cleverly conceals any kitchen clutter from the dining and living areas. It is made from two stacked double-sided kitchen worktops. The sink and the only traditional upper kitchen cabinet are located in a nook, making them nearly invisible in the space. Beneath the arched wall-mounted hood sits only a portable induction cooktop\u2014again, an element that transforms the kitchen into more of a suggestion than a full cooking space. Everything is designed to maintain the airiness and lightness of the overall area. However, functionality is fully packed; the appliances are deliberately integrated\u2014washer and dryer! dishwasher! refrigerator and microwave. In such a small space, it was necessary to consider storage for a bucket, mop, vacuum cleaner, iron, drying rack, and everything else as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bathroom is small but ultra-functional. Everything necessary can be managed by pivoting in place. A fruit bowl, also from IKEA, has been repurposed as a sink, and the single tub-shower faucet above serves both the sink and the shower. The shower features sliding segment doors that open both ways. The slanted corner in the bathroom has created a valuable space in the hallway for putting on coats. A mirror attached to it doubles the surprisingly bright and spacious feel of the apartment in the entry zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everything here has its place. There is an intuitive order and organization from the whole to the details. Even the cabinets are labeled with a marker according to their function. It creates a soothing, almost therapeutic atmosphere. Drifting clouds reflect on the glossy surfaces of the wardrobes, and at night, the plant Ad\u00e9la casts shadows all around the apartment.
